The weekly deals are going away! These will be good through April 11th, then Stampin’ Up! will release its last set of weekly deals. The following message is from Stampin’ Up!:
“Weekly Deals began to help reduce overstocked inventory. As we’ve reduced excess inventory, the variety of products available for Weekly Deals has decreased, making the deals less exciting, so we’re replacing Weekly Deals with a less frequent but better promotion called Special Offers. These Special Offers will occur every few months as inventory allows (the goal is still to reduce overstocked inventory) with more products and discount tiers than Weekly Deals (offers may vary per market). The last sets of Weekly Deals will be April 5-18.”
ALSO – this is HUGE if you have been waiting on the Stampin’ Trimmer Blades – Stampin’ Up! will have a VERY LIMITED stock available today at noon MT, so order ASAP if you want to get some. They will go back to being unavailable to order after that stock is depleted.
Greetings! Today I want to share with you a card I made for a dear friend’s birthday this week and also to participate in Stampin’ Royalty’s “Wonderful Words” (SR#323) challenge this week. The challenge was to create a project where the greeting or words are the main focus. It was a no-brainer for me to choose the Sale-a-Bration stamp set – Botanicals for You.
To make the background on this card, I used a technique from Stampin’ Up’s Artisan Design Team member, Connie Collins. I cut out 4 of the Bloomin’ Heart thinlits and pieced them together on my Pool Party cardstock like this:
Then, I simply trimmed the excess off the edges and it left me with a beautiful “lacy” die-cut background! To finish the card off, I added the bold sentiment in the middle and a few die-cut flowers from the Botanical Builder framelits. It’s really difficult to see in the photo, but I also went over the sentiment with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to give it some extra pop and shimmer. It looks so pretty IRL!

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying this Easter. I am having Easter dinner at my grandparents’ house where I will get to visit with many people in my family, so of course, I didn’t want to show up empty handed! This is the little treat holder that I made to give to each person.
Here is a link to the tutorial by Connie Stewart, that I followed to put the base of this “egg throne” together. The exceptions to her tutorial are that I used a 1 3/4″ circle punch for the egg to sit in, and I used my Scalloped Tag Topper punch for the top.
First I stamped the chick from Honeycomb Happiness on watercolor paper with black archival ink to keep it from smearing, then I used my aqua painter to pick up some Crushed Curry ink to color him (or her?) in. I used my Pumpkin Pie marker to color the feet and beak, then punched it out with my 2 1/2″ circle punch and added a rhinestone studded flower in Watermelon Wonder. I adhered a strip of 1″ x 2″ piece of Birthday Bouquet DSP at the base before gluing the chick image to the egg holder. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Easter Lamb stamp onto whisper white cardstock and punched out with the Washi Label punch and adhered above the image. A little tip regarding the Easter Lamb stamp – you may not always want to stamp both the image and the sentiment together, so I cut the sentiment apart from the main image and mounted it on the end of my wood block, this way I don’t have to worry about masking off the main image every time I want to use just the sentiment!
