Every time I looked at the samples of the In the Meadow stamp set featured in the occasions catalog, my eyes were drawn to the beauty of the watercoloring. I really, really wanted to CASE it (Copy And Share Everything)! What I love about the watercoloring technique is that it’s not meant to be perfect and in fact, it adds to the artsy-ness of it if there are little imperfections. Here is my CASE of the catalog card:
To create this card, I stamped the images in black archival ink to prevent the lines from smearing when I applied water to it. Then I used my Soft Suede, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, and Hello Honey inks to color in the water, mountains, trees and grass with my aqua painter. Finally, I picked up some Lost Lagoon ink with my aqua painter and made sure it had a lot of water on the tip, then I just flicked the ink onto my card in random places. I love how this turned out! So much so, that I decided the technique would be super fun to teach at my upcoming workshop this weekend.
Thanks for looking!
